Code Compliance & Technical Requirements
EV charger installation involves 240V circuitry and is regulated under Washington electrical code (RCW 19.28). Because of that, it must be done by a licensed electrician. DIY installation risks fire hazards, code violations, and voided equipment warranties.

Most installations in Western Washington run $1,200–$1,500, depending on panel capacity, conduit length, and permit fees. Either way, we provide a fixed, transparent quote before any work begins, and can flag any panel upgrade needs during your consultation.
Can I install a home EV charger myself?+
No, Washington requires a licensed electrician for 240V circuit work, and DIY installation can void your charger’s warranty and create fire risks. Instead, our licensed electricians handle permitting, installation, and inspection for you.
Can a non-Tesla EV charge on a Tesla Wall Connector?+
Yes, with the Universal Wall Connector (J1772 + NACS) or an adapter. In fact, if you own or plan to own multiple EV brands, just let us know during your consultation so we can size the right equipment.
Does rain or outdoor exposure affect a home charger?+
No, outdoor-rated chargers carry a NEMA 3R weatherproof rating built for Western Washington’s rainy climate, and GFCI protection is also required by code for any outdoor installation.
Can I add an EV charger to an existing solar system?+
In most cases, yes. We evaluate your existing inverter and panel capacity first, then design the charger circuit to integrate with what’s already installed.
