Phase 1
What Changed in 2026
Two incentives that used to apply to home EV chargers ended on June 30, 2026. The federal Section 30C tax credit, worth up to $1,000 or 30% of install cost in eligible census tracts, is no longer available for equipment placed in service after that date. Washington’s state sales-tax exemption on home charger equipment ended the same day. If a charger was installed and operational before June 30, 2026, it may still qualify for that tax year. Consult a tax professional for your specific situation, since Solphos isn’t able to give personalized tax advice.
Because of that change, the incentive picture for 2026 installs now runs through your local utility rather than the federal government.

Which Washington utilities offer EV charger rebates?
Puget Sound Energy and Snohomish PUD both offer residential rebates, and roughly a dozen other Washington utilities have their own programs. Check with your utility directly for current terms.
How much is the PSE rebate?
$300 for standard residential customers installing a qualifying Level 2 charger, with higher amounts available for income-qualified customers.
Do I need to apply for a rebate before or after installation?
This varies by utility. Some require confirming eligibility before purchase, while others accept an application after installation. We’ll help you check your utility’s specific process.
Does Solphos handle the rebate paperwork?
